Non-sensical advertisement


Poisonous Lust

The appeal to desire that I used was "Appeal to people's desire to escape/fantasy and appeal to people's desire for sex interest...

I used this advertisement as my ad to talk and advertise about because it makes the ad seem
more fictional and more attractive and the slogans sound more catchy.

This connects with the audience because the demographic that I am aiming for are women, young adults, lovers, and girls etc and people who desire to attract people by the fragrance of the perfume.
The different language techniques that I used were:
1. Compound words
2. Comparitives
3. Adjectives
4. Emotive language
5. Exclaimation
6. Hyperbole
7. Metaphors
8. Simile
9. Slogan
10.Cliche
The effect from these lanuage techniques are that they make the perfume more wantable and
seductive towards the mind and body. "Poisonous Lust'' is the title because that just relates to how the passion and the temptation spreads though the body of the person using the perfume like the fragnance wraps the person around into its little finger until the person feels the "Malicious Pleasure" from the perfume so good, that the perfume makes it for the person hard to breathe because of the "breathtaking temptation of the perfume that radiates seductive and alluring energy within the person.
The persuasive techniques that I used for my advertisement is "Emotional Words'', because it reveals the love and the pain within the person; the perfume that is.
I think that this perfume may have been persuasive enough to convince the audience to buy this product because these techniques that I used were feasable and they just might convince the audience to buy this product because my advertisement had many slogans, many adjectives with the appeal to desire based on escape/fantasy and sex interest that affects many people in the world becuase some people just love the attention and who doesn't like a perfume with a beautiful and delicate designs with lovable and delicious language techniques used that the person will be just absorbed in their zone whereas the metaphor's that I've used are quite fetching and fantastic. My advertisement also has an alluring, seductive effect that attracts people and a killing effect that makes a person "want" it so much, It'll kill them...

Appealing to me?

Appeal to the people's desire for a bargain...

It appeals me because in ''we sell for less'', it shows that they sell valuable products in a low price and in ''buy one, get one free''; they are hoping that the customers buy the product and getting another one along with it for free showing that the product is so good, that it needs to be bought more than once.

Appeal to novelty...

It appeals to me because in ''the newest, the latest design'' it shows that the people who are selling the product advertises that the specific product that they are selling is advanced and awesome to buy.

Appeal to science...

It appeals to me because they also are giving scientific proof on the product they are advertising and selling on... for ex. ''scientifically proved'' or ''contains miracle micro-enzymes for a better performance''; they are also giving a reason and detailed proof.

Appeal to people's desire to conform or belong...

It appeals to me because ''more people are changing to get with the strength'', is an example of an advertisement showing that 'this' certain product that the producers are selling can change and make you belong in the group and you won't be a certain outcast.

Appeal to people's desire for self indulge...

It appeals to me because for example, ''give your self a treat'', or you deserve a break'' shows that the advertisement that are being put on are more based on self deserving and more caring for a specific person's personal life; his'her own life.

Appeal to people's desire to want to be accepted...

It appeals to me because in the example, ''be cool with clear'', or ''healthy complexion'', shows that the producers of the advertisements are trying to persuade you to buy the product using things that concerns you fitting in and not becoming the outcast; kind of similar to people's desire to conform and belong.

Appeal to people's desire to feel safe and secure...

It appeals to me because the example of the ad, ''protect your home with...'' and ''for life long security insure with'' persuades the viewer or me to buy or purchase this because it is for her/his or his/hers' family's safety; it gives off the feeling of security and satisfaction.

Appeal to people's desire to escape/fantasy...

It appeals to me because in the ad its written, ''escape the rat race'' or ''discover romantic getaways'', meaning the feeling of freedom and aromatic fantasylike feeling...it gives off a breathtaking aura.

Appeal to people's desire to protect the environment...

It appeals to me from the example that was given that was, '' 100% recycled'' and environmentally friendly''; shows that and appeals to me because environmental problems is a big crisis in our world right now and I think that the advertisements on environmental things gives out a positive outlet.

Appeal to sex interest...

The ad that is given is, '' sensual fruit essence with excite your senses'' and ''exotic lashings of rich chocolate''; appeals to me because the feelings in the advertisements sound excting and intriguing because their description sounds very delicious in a way and even though it sounds like a figure of speech; the feelings are arousing.

Appeal to people's desire to protect their loved ones...

In the example, it is given; '' protect your family with...!'' and All natural ingredients, rich in vitamins to give your children the energy they need..'', shows that it appeals in a way targeting a more open minded and caring audience or an audience with a family that need taking care of...it shows that it can manipulate people to buy the specific product for buying by giving reasons why the customer should buy the product and what outcome will come if the customer does buy the product.

What disney movies actually promote...

Really now, is Disney all that Great?


Everyone loves Disney, but what are they really watching? what do they think their kids are adapting from Disney? Do they think that their children are getting great concepts like how to sing merry songs and preschool fun rhymes because most disney movies are based on cartoons?




Walt Disney has produced an estimate of 45 animated movies. Some of the mos popular ones are: Pinocchio (1940), Cinderella (1950), Alice in Wonderland (1951), Peter Pan (1953), Sleeping Beauty (1959), The Jungle Book (1967), The Little Mermaid (1989), Beauty and the Beast (1991), The Lion King (1994), Tarzan (1999), and Lilo and Stitch (2002); Many of all these movies have won great awards like for example Academy Awards(The Oscar Award), and the Annie Award, as Best Animated Film making, Best songs, lyrics etc... But enough, despite all these great prestigious awards that these Disney movies have won, they all portray to stereotypical gender roles and racial bias. Just like men are have to have the perfect masculine figure with the husky looks and the handsome faces and the women all have to have a slender fragile figure and a youthful beautiful face; in general, they only want people with unsurpassable beauty and a perfect body figure for starring on their show.



I will be giving you an example of an animated Disney movie that will show you about how that specific Disney movie effects children and what are the things and details about that certain movies that portrays children to adapt specific things...



The Disney movie that I'm going to be focusing on is about Hua Mulan; first, I'm going to summarize the so called innocent story, then I will show the character analysis that will exactly shows reasons and ways, tactics that the movie crew used to discrimate charcters and basically historically discriminate the movie...


Hua Mulan: This is an old chinese story about a women who participated in war with men and country in place of here father because he was sick; she had a little brother but he couldn't participate in war because he was too small in age. Anyways, she was known as a great chinese warrior and till this day, they remember her as a great leader and a vunerable respectable leader.


Character Analysis:

The Disney animated movie that was made on her behalf wasn't respectable and the description of the characters of the chinese movies facial expressions and bodily features were similar to each other symbolizing chinese peoples' features that represents recognision of a chinese person and they all had chinky sort of eyes that looked somewhat unattractive; their eyes are usually used for glaring and scaring people that makes people think that chinese eyes are indeed not pretty and unevitable.

The main character herself is more masculine rather fragile like a normal chinese women, even though this movie isn't about strength levels and body structures; it just seems that way with the Disney movie represented in weird motive for the main character just by appearance. She isn't viewed as a beautiful Asian women but enough though in the animated movie she gives off the vibe of masculine roughness.

If we go further on describing bodily portrayal, we can see that that the characters are drawn with short limbs and legs; people might say that ''that's just the way Asian bodies are'' or ''that's just the accurate picture of an Asian body'', when it actually takes a standpoint to a white person's standard.

Good OR Service???




Who is being encouraged to use this good or service?

In the ad ''Every child needs a family'', is it for good OR service?

I think that this ad is for good and nor really focusing on the service because a left out or abandoned child is one of the problems some of the major states are facing, and because of that, it enables many people to make ads that shows the lonesome children in delay that people don't care about and rather abandon than help...

This ad makes people to think about children, or their own children that would've been in the same situation if they were left by their parents, guardians, or siblings...

This ad enables many to think about what could happen if their own child was as pitiful as this child on the ad post...this ad also makes you to think about others rather than yourself...

Preferences and consumer tastes

How do the ads appeal to the consumers tastes and preferences?
This ad appeals to the consumers tastes and preferences because they are trying to convince adult drinkers or young teenagers that have siblings to stop drinking; this is a form of persuasion in which the consumers taste and preferences becomes more convinced and aware of the circumstances of drinking in front of a smaller being.

Yes, there is a relationship between those three, because they link to eachother by bringing their quotes right back to the main attraction; which in this ad is "Go Green. Go Public."

The Persuasive language techniques

Why is using persuasive language such an importance to making advertisements for a product or a selling object?

That is because without these fantastic slogans and catchy phrases you wont see the importance of buying th
e product...

Have you ever wanted to buy something because the song that goes with it is nice and funny and it has a catchy slogan that is stuck to your head? Well, that's what we call persuasive language and there are many persuasive language techniques that apply to the ad you love so much...

The different language techniques are called:

1. Bandwagon: A persuasive that uses other people's perspective an
d giving the message to you saying that everyone uses this product then why not you also? A bandwagon tells you to buy the product if you don't want to be left out of the group and also gives the message that you would become an outcast or a slow paced from others if you don't buy the product...an example is this ad on the right showing a women advertising for a perfume called "versense", and below of the perfumes name entitled, its written and giving an example that most women use 'this' specific perfume so why don't 'you'? (refers to the reader)

2. Testimonial: A testimonial is using a famous persons' words to persuade or convince somebody of something or to buy something. Why is a testimonial helpful and why use celebrities to advertise? That is because using a celebrity to advertise in an advertisement or a dialogue helps people sell out things faster once the ad for the product is published...for example, everyone loves Michael Jackson; he is a great singer and he convinced many people to buy these lovely Nike shoes and people bought em', just because the king of pop asked them to...
that is why having a celebrity as a advertiser can be very helpful; but very costly indeed...

3. Transfer: A transfer ad is when people use the names or the pictures of famous people, not quotations...this shows that when a person sees the product, he/she also sees the famous person representing the product which indeed makes the person who just might buy that certain product feel special; for example, an example of a celebrity can be Avril Lavigne.. a singer wh0 sometimes advertises for perfumes like black star, that inspired many people to but the product because they like or are fans of Avril Lavigne who is supposedly targeting teenager girls or even women as her target audience...

4. Repetition: A repetition is when the products' name is repeated at least four time; for further explanation, the people who want to advertise the product are trying to persuade the viewer to look forward to seeking this product and always reminded them that it's a must to buy the product and give crazy reason like ''your wife wants wine'' which repeats the W's in the advertisement....


5. Emotional words: The emotional words used in advertisements are for feeling strongly about a certain subject or anything that the ad is promoting you to believe strongly about something for example children who don't have parents or famine families... this ad is an example of a child advertisement targeting adults or vunerable people...

Good or Service? Is the ad provide consumers with enough information to make it worth buying???


Does the Advertisement provide consumers with enough information to decide whether to buy this product or not?

This advertisement may look rather important so I think that it truely is a worth buying book because it contains good resources and states the conflict of the book to begin with...the advertisement begins with a fact on the front cover so that it could persuade readers to buy this book.
In my opinion, I think the advertisement leaves us in awe and shock just by the begining of the title that entitles us to be shocked and praise the book because of the excitement that it seizes just by looking at the book's front cover.
